A one-week walk to key sites in Las Vegas, Cactus Springs and Mercury (Nevada) relating to nuclear weapons and peace, followed by a contemplative desert walk.
Sites to be visited will include the Atomic Testing Museum, Office of the Department of Energy (which oversees nuclear weapons testing and development), Martin Luther King Statue, historic peace camp at the entrance to the nuclear weapons test site, Cactus Springs Temple, and the Creech Air Force Base.
‘We walk in the footsteps of a long legacy of peace walkers and spiritual leaders to draw attention to the nuclear dangers that continue to threaten our planet, and the violent robots (RPAs or drones) continuing to kill people monthly, damaging the community of life in the desert. We also focus on the threats of nuclear waste to the Sacred Yucca Mountain. Please join us in transforming fears into compassion and apathy into action during Nevada Desert Experience’s annual Sacred Peace Walk!‘
