On March 11 it will be one year since our world suffered the greatest global industrial catastrophe in human history, the devastation at Fukushima’s four nuclear reactors in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami that overcame all human efforts to tame the lethal use of nuclear power.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes located in lands contaminated by the toxic radioactive brew that is still spewing from the damaged nuclear reactors and irradiated fuel pools into the air, water, and soil. Radiation data is not being shared as the lethal plumes of radioactivity circle the globe, affecting all of humanity, even unto generations yet unborn.
It’s time to end the nuclear age. No more Chernobyls! No more Fukushimas!
Around the world, people will be forming HUMAN CHAINS AGAINST CHAIN REACTIONS in their communities as they educate themselves about the dangers of nuclear power and the opportunities to shift to clean, safe, sustainable energy from the sun, wind, tides, and geothermal energy.
Join us in planning an event in your community. Then share your event on the Human Chain Calendar below by leaving a comment telling us about your plans and how people can get involved.
Let us encircle our planet with a chain of humanity determined to guarantee that we will never again have to suffer the tragic consequences of a future Fukushima!
Hi,
Mongolians strongly oppose uranium mining and the construction of NPP in Mongolia–but the projects are being started by the government without letting the people have their say. With media in teh hands of the “haves” our voices are often muted. To show our solidarity with people all ove rthe world struggling for a nuclear0-free world we are organizing our Anti -nuclear demonstration on March 11, 2011. We will make videos and post them online !
The Anti-Nuclear Movement of Mongolia ( Facebook group, started June 2011)
