Youth Fusion continues to stand at the intersection of innovation, education, and advocacy, uniquely positioned to amplify the voices of young people in the fields of disarmament and non-proliferation. In direct response to General Assembly Resolution 78/31, our initiatives from July 2023 to June 2025 have aimed not only to inform but to fundamentally transform how young people perceive and engage with the complexities of international security.
Our generation did not live through the Cold War. We do not carry the visceral memory of nuclear brinkmanship, nor are we shaped by the historical weight that originally drove the formation of disarmament norms. In its place, we are exposed to media that can trivialize, glorify, or misrepresent the risks associated with nuclear weapons. This disconnect leaves many young people either uninformed or detached from global efforts to reduce existential threats.
Youth Fusion was created to bridge this generational gap and reframe nuclear weapons through a youth-centered lens. Our mission is grounded in the belief that the perspectives, creativity, and lived realities of young people are essential to revitalizing the global disarmament discourse. We do this by translating complex technical, legal, and geopolitical topics into accessible, resonant formats, including podcasts, multilingual online courses, youth storytelling platforms, interactive toolkits, and global dialogues.
Our work affirms that youth are not passive observers but active agents in shaping the future of global security. By creating inclusive, participatory platforms, Youth Fusion empowers young people to both understand and influence disarmament and non-proliferation processes, ensuring their voices are heard in the rooms where decisions are made.
